XX of 1936 to rest of Bombay State BOMBAY OPIUM SMOKING (EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1959 19 of 1959 [March 30, 1959] An Act to extend the Bombay Opium Smoking Act, 1936, to the rest of the State of Bombay, for that and certain other purposes further to amend that Act, and to repeal corresponding laws in force in any part of the State. Whereas it is expedient to extend the Bombay Opium Smoking Act, 1936 (Bom XX of 1936). to the rest of the State of Bombay, for that and certain other purposes further to amend that Act, and to repeal corresponding laws in force in any part of the State; It is hereby enacted in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows : 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Bombay Opium Smoking (Extension and Amendment] Act, 1959. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. 2. Extension of Bom. XX of 1936 to rest of Bombay State :- T he Bombay Opium Smoking Act, 1936 (Bom. XX of 1936), is hereby extended, and by such extension shall be in force, throughout the State of Bombay.
