Ritu Bahri CJ
1. The only grievance of the petitioner, in this writ petition, is that the respondents are not extending the contract of the petitioner after 31.03.2024.
2. Mr. Vipul Sharma, learned counsel for the Zila Panchayat has supplied a copy of the letter dated 26.03.2024 to learned counsel for the petitioner where reference has been made to the letter dated 30.06.2022, whereby the State Government has given directions to all the Zila Panchayats to de-notify the regulations for collecting toll tax. He further submits that after expiry of the contract of the petitioner, no new contract is being given to anyone.
3. Keeping in view the letter dated 26.03.2024, and 30.06.2022, no extension can now be granted to the petitioner, as a conscious decision has already been taken by the State Government to debar the Panchayats for carrying out the process of collecting toll.
4. Petitioner will have a cause of action if this toll plaza is being given to anybody in future against the letter dated 26.03.2024 as well as the letter dated 30.06.2022.
5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
6. Pending application, if any, also stands disposed of.
