1. Learned counsel for the petitioners submit that petitioners land have been acquired by the respondent authorities way back on 01.06.2013 but the

compensation have been paid to them after a lapse of about 5 years on 16.03.2018 but interest on the said amount of compensation has not been paid

to them as provided under Section 34 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894.

2. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioners.

3. Be that as it may, the petitioners are at liberty to make representation before the respondent authorities for grant of interest on the said amount of

compensation that will be considered and decided by the authorities, expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt

of certified copy of this order.

4. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. It is for the authority to consider and decide the

petitioners' representation strictly in accordance with law.

5. With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands finally disposed of. No order as to cost(s).
