Administrative Officer, Class-I, in the Gujarat Horticulture Service Recruitment Rules, 1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Administrative Officer, (Non-technical) Class-I, in the Gujarat Horticulture Service, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Administrative Officer, Class-I, in the Gujarat Horticulture Service, Recruitment Rules, 1999. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Administrative Officer, Class-I, in the Gujarat Horticulture Service shall be made either: (a) by promotion of person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than eight years in the cadre of Assistant Administrative Officer-cum-Account's Officer (Non-Technical) in the Gujarat Horticulture Service, Class-II, and have passed the departmental examination; Provided that where the appointing authority is satisfied that a person having an experience specified above is not available for promotion and that it is necessary in the public interest to fill up the post by promotion of a person having experience for a lesser period, it may, for reasons to be recorded, in writing, promote such a person, provided that the experience proposed so shall not be less than two thirds of the period specified above, or (b) by transfer from amongst the persons working on the equivalent post in the Class I, State Service under the State Government. 3. . :- The candidate appointed by promotion shall be required to undergo such training and pass such examination as may be prescribed by the Government and shall be required to serve the Government thereafter for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
