Agriculture Officer, Gujarat Agriculture Service, Class-II, Recruitment Rules, 2003 In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India, and in supersession of all existing rules made in this behalf under Government Notification No. GHKH 8/87/BHARAT/1685/2489/(2)/K-l dt. 3.3.1987 the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of the Agriculture Officer, Class II, in the Gujarat Agriculture Service, Class II, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Agriculture Officer, Gujarat Agriculture Service, Class II, Recruitment Rules, 2003. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of the Agriculture Officer, in the Gujarat Agriculture Service, Class II, shall be made by direct selection. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be more than 28 years of age; (b) possess a Bachelor's degree in Science (Agriculture) of a recognized university; (c) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both : Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a person already in the service of the Government of Gujarat in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services, Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. 4. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of two years. 5. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination, if any, and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with rules prescribed in that behalf by the Government from time to time. 6. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training and pass such examination as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time. 7. . :- The candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to furnish security and surety bonds in such forms and for such amount as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time.
