Agriculture Supervisor (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 227 read with section 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Acts, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide f or regulating recruitment to the post of Agriculture Supervisor (Class-III), (Panchayat Service), namely : 1. 1. :- These rules may be called the Agriculture Supervisor (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. 2. :- Appointment to the post of Agriculture Supervisor (Class III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made either- (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked as Gram Sevaks (Class III), (Panchayat Service) for not less than five years; or (b) by direct selection. 3. 3. :- The appointment by direct selection and promotion shall be made in the ratio of 1:3. 4. 4. :- To be eligible for appointment by direction selection to the post mentioned in rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 21 years and not more than 28 years of age; (b) possess bachelor's degree in Science with Agriculture or Horticulture subject of a University established by law in India or deemed to be University as per the provisions of section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956); (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 5. 5. :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year. 6. 6. :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to undergo such training for such period and pass such post-training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. 7. :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 8. 8. :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to furnish security and surety bond for such amount, in such form and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
