Air Conditioning Plant Superintendent, Class-III, Recruitment Rules, 1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India, all the rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide or regulating recruitment to the post of Air Conditioning Plant Superintendent, Class-III, in the Gujarat State Food and Drugs Control Administration subordinate services, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Air Conditioning Plant Superintendent, Class-III, Recruitment Rules, 1999. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Air Conditioning Plant Superintendent, Class-III shall be made either: (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than five years in the cadre of Refrigeration Mechanic, Class-III in the Food and Drugs Control Administration, or (b) by direct selection. 3. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall: (a) not be less than 23 years of age and more than 31 years of age. (b) (i) possess a degree in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering of a recognised University and not less than three years experience in operation, maintenance and repairing of commercial and domestic Air Conditioning Plant and Refrigeration equipment as well as electrical and mechanical equipment in a workshop of Government or semi Government Laboratories, Hospitals, Establishments or Industrial undertakings after obtaining educational qualification, or (ii) possess a Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering of a recognised University or Institution not less than five years experience in operation, maintenance and repairing of commercial and domestic A i r Conditioning Plant and Refrigeration equipment as well as electrical and mechanical equipment in the workshop or Government Laboratories Hospitals, establishment or Industrial undertaking after obtaining educational qualification. (c) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati, English and Hindi. Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who possesses exceptionally good qualifications or experience or both. Provided further that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is already in the service of Government of Gujarat in accordance with the provisions of Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 as amendment from time to time. 4. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be kept on probation for a period of one year. 5. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government. 6. . :- A candidate appointed either by promotion or by direct selection shall have to undergo such training and shall have to pass such post training examination in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government. 7. . :- The candidate appointed by direct selection shall have to furnish security and surety bond for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
