ALL INDIA RADIO, CIVIL CONSTRUCTION WING (GROUP 'A' AND 'B' POSTS) RECRUITMENT RULES, 1988 1 Gazetted of India, Part II, Section 3 (i) page, 1426, 30-4-1988. G.S.R. 370 (New Delhi, the 28th March, 1988). In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution, and in pursuance of the All India Radio, Civil Construction Wing (Class I and Class II Post) Recruitment Rules, 1975, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the President hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to Group 'A' and Group 'B' Post in the Civil Construction Wing of All India Radio, in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, namely : 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) These rules may be called the All India Radio, Civil Construction Wing (Group 'A' and Group 'B' Posts Recruitment) Rules, 1988. (2) They shall come into force on the date2 of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Number of posts, classification and scale of pay :- The number of said posts, their classification and the scales of pay attached thereto shall be as specified in Columns 2 to 4 of the schedule annexed to these rule. 3. Method of Recruitment, age limit, qualification etc. :- T h e method of recruitment, age limit, qualifications and other matters relating to the said posts shall be as specified in Column 5 to 14 of the schedule. 4. Liability to serve in the Defence Services :- Any person appointed to the post for which a degree in engineering/architecture (or equivalent qualification) is the minimum qualification shall, if so required, be liable to serve in any Defence Service or post connected with the Defence of India for a period of not less than four years including the period spent on training, if any, provided that such person : (a) shall not be required to serve as a foresaid after the expiry of ten years from the date of appointment. (b) shall not ordinarily be required to serve as aforesaid after attaining the age of forty-five years. 5. Disqualifications :- No person, (a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living or; (b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said posts : Provided that the Central Government, may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 6. Power to relax :- Whether the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may be order, for reasons, to be record in writing and in consultation with the Union Public Service Commission relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons. 7. Saving :- Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the candidates belonging to the Schedule Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the ex-servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard.
