Of Certain Laws SCHEDULE 1 :- THE SCHEDULE Andhra Pradesh Laws (Amendment Of Short Titles) (No. 2) Act, 1961 42 of 1961 [28 December 1961] An Act to amend the short titles of, certain laws in force in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Twelfth Year of the Republic of India as follows;-- 1. For Statement of objects and Reasons see part IV-A of A.P. Gazette (Ext.) dt. 4-12-1961 page 246. 1. Short Title :- This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Laws (Amendment of Short Titles) (No. 2) Act, 1961. 2. Definitions :- In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Andhra area" means the territories of the State of Andhra Pradesh which, immediately before the 1st November 1956, were comprised in the State of Andhra; (b) "law" includes any enactment, ordinance, regulation, order, bye-law, rule, scheme, notification or other instrument having the force of law in the whole or in any part of the State of Andhra Pradesh and relating to any matter enumerated in List II or List III of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution: (c) "Telangana area means the territories specified in sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the States Reorganisation Act, 1956 (Central Act 37 of 1956). 3. Amendment Of Short Titles Etc. Of Certain Laws :- (1) The short title of every law specified in column (2) of the First Schedule and its citation by the number and year as indicated therewith shall be amended as specified in the corresponding entry i n column (3) thereof and all references to any such law in any other law shall stand modified accordingly. (2) The word "Madras", "Andhra" or "Hyderabad" occurring in the citation by the number and year of any law shall be omitted and any reference to any such citation in any other law shall stand modified accordingly. (3) In the long titles and preambles of the Regulations in force in the Andhra area only of the State of Andhra Pradesh specified in the Schedule, for the words "partially excluded areas" wherever they occur, the words "Scheduled Areas" shall be substituted.
