Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Thirty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- * Received the assent of the Governor on the 10th April, 1987. Short Title :- This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Mandala Praja Parishads, Zilla Praja Parishads and Zilla Abhivrudhi Sameeksha Mandals (Second Amendment) Act, 1987. 2. Amendment Of Section 6, Act 31 Of 1936 :- In the Andhra Pradesh Mandala Praja Parishads, Zilla Praja Parishads and Zilla Abhivrudhi Sameeksha Mandals Act, 1986, in section 6, in sub-section (2) after the first proviso, the following further proviso shall be inserted, namely:-- "Provided further that where the ordinary elections to the gram panchayats are not held before the ordinary elections to the Mandala Praja Parishads are held, and the sarpanchas of the gram panchayats in the Mandal concerned or generally in all Mandals are continuing in office beyond their normal term of office by reason of an extension of the term of their office, the election to the office of the member specified in clause (v) of sub-section (1) of section 4 and to the office of vice-president shall be held on such date as the election authority may appoint, after the ordinary elections to the gram panchayats are held.".
