Repeal of Ordinance 1 of 2004 Andhra Pradesh Universities (Amendment) Act, 2004 7 of 2004 PREAMBLE AN ACT FURTHER TO AMEND THE ANDHRA PRADESH UNIVERSITIES ACT, 1991 Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Fifty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Universities (Amendment) Act, 2004. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 23rd January, 2004. 2. Amendment of section 4 :- In the Andhra Pradesh Universities Act, 1991(Act 4 of 1991) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 4, to item (iv) the following proviso shall be added, namely:- "Provided that on the date of commencement of the Andhra Pradesh Universities (Amendment) Act, 2004 the Nagarjuna University shall be renamed as "Acharya Nagarjuna University" for the purposes of this Act.". 3. Amendment of Schedule Act 4 of 1991 :- In the principal Act, in the Schedule, in the Table in Column 2, against Sl. No. 4, for the words "Nagarjuna University", the words "Acharya Nagarjuna University", shall be substituted. 4. Repeal of Ordinance 1 of 2004 :- The Andhra Pradesh Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2004 is hereby repealed.
