Website : www.courtkutchehry.com Armed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commandmant, Adjustant and Battalian Quarters Master in Gujarat State Reserve Police Service, Recruitment Rules, 1996 CONTENTS 1. rule 2. rule 3. rule 4. rule 5. rule 6. rule 7. rule Armed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commandmant, Adjustant and Battalian Quarters Master in Gujarat State Reserve Police Service, Recruitment Rules, 1996 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Bombay State Reserve Police Force Act, 1951, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Armed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commandant, Adjustant and Battalian Quarter Master in Gujarat State Reserve Police Service Class-I, namely:- 1. rule :- > These rules may be called the Armed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commandant, Adjustant and Battalian Quarters Master in Gujarat State Reserve Police Service, Recruitment Rules, 1996. 2. rule :- Appointment to the post of Armed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commandant, Adjustant and Battalian Quarter Master in Gujarat State Reserve Police Service Class-I, shall be made either: (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons, who have worked for not less than eight years on the cadre of Armed Police Inspector Class-II in Gujarat State Reserved Police Force and who have passed the Department Examination, if any. Provided that where an appointing authority is satisfied that a person having an experience specified above is not available for promotion and that it is necessary in the public interest to fill up the post by promotion of a person having experience for a lesser period, it may, for reasons to be recorded in writing, promote such person who possesses experience for a period of not less than two third of the period specified above, or (b) by direct selection in special circumstances, or (c) by temporary transfer of a person on deputation basis from amongst the person working on the order of Unarmed Deputy Superintendent of Police, Class-I, in the Gujarat Police Service. 3. rule :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 28 years. (b) possess a degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act,1996. (c) possess the following minimum standard of Physique:- (i) Height measurement : 1. 65 metres (1.60 metres in case of Scheduled Tribes candidate originally belonging to the State of Gujarat). (ii) Chest measurement: 0.84 metre with minimum inflation of 0.05 metre. (d) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi to enable him to read, write and speak the languages. 4. rule :- The candidate appointed by direct selection shall be kept on probation for a period of two years. 5. rule :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass'departmental examination, if any, and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rule prescribed by the Government in .this behalf from time to time 6. rule :- The candidate appointed by promotion or by direct selection shall be required to undergo such training, as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time. 7. rule :- A selected candidate will be required to furnish security and surety bonds in such form and for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by Government from time to time.
