Amendment of Section 4 Assam Administrative Tribunal (Amendment) Act, 1996 05 of 1996 [26 March 1996] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Administrative Tribunal Act, 1977. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Administrative Tribunal Act, 1977(Assam Act VIII of 1977), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act ; I t is hereby enacted in the Forty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows :- 1. Short Title and Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Administrative Tribunal (Amendment) Act, 1996. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once, 2. Amendment of Section 4 :- In the principal Act, in section 4, in sub-section (2), after the existing proviso thereto, the following further proviso shall be inserted, namely:- "Provided further that in an appropriate case the Tribunal may relax t h e provisions contained in the foregoing proviso regarding the period of six months specified therein".
