Substitution of Rule 25D of the Administration of Justice Rules Assam Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 1978 07 of 1978 [01 July 1978] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Rules for the Administration of Justice in the North Cachar Hills District of the State of Assam. Whereas it is expedient to amend the Rules for the Administration of Justice in the North Cachar Hills District of the State of Assam, hereinafter called the "Said Rules", in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-ninth year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 1978. (2) It shall extend to the North Cachar Hills District of the State of Assam. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Deletion of Rule 25A of the Administration of Justice Rules :- Rule 25A of the said Rules shall be deleted. 3. Substitution of Rule 25D of the Administration of Justice Rules :- For Rule 25D of the said Rules, the following shall be substituted, namely:-- "25D All criminal cases or other proceedings instituted and pending in any Court in Haflong town on the date of coming into force of this Act shall stand transferred to the Court of the Deputy Commissioner or his Assistant, as the case may be, and the Court before which such criminal cases or proceedings are pending shall transfer all relevant and connected papers and records to the Deputy Commissioner, North Cachar Hills District or his Assistant, as the case may be, and thereupon the Deputy Commissioner, North Cachar Hills District or his Assistant, as the case may be, shall dispose of the criminal cases or proceedings under the Administration of Justice Rules in the North Cachar Hills District".
