Amendment of section 34 of the Regulation I of 1886 Assam Land And Revenue Regulation (Amendment) Act, 1959 15 of 1959 [20 May 1959] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886 Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886, hereinafter called the said Regulation, in the manner hereinafter appearing; (Regulation I of 1886). It is hereby enacted in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows.- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation (Amendment) Act, 1959. (2) It shall have the like application as the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1836. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of section 3 of Regulation I of 1886 :- I n section 3 of the said Regulation, after clause (1) the following new clause (m) shall be inserted, namely-- "(m) "Deputy Commissioner" includes and shall be deemed always to have included the Additional Deputy Commissioner." 3. Amendment of section 34 of the Regulation I of 1886 :- In section 34 of the said Regulation,-- (1) the semi-colon after the word "behalf" shall be substituted by colon and the words and punctuation "or, at the expiry of that term no new settlement has been made, until a new settlement has been made:" shall be deleted. (2) in the proviso the following new clause (a) shall be inserted and the existing clauses (a), (b) and (c) shall be re-numbered as clauses (b), (c) and (d) respectively, namely-- "(a) the revenue shall be liable to revision according to the law for the time being in force."
