Amendment of Section 1(2) of Assam Act XXV of 1948 Assam Land (Requisition And Acquisition) (Amendment) Act, 1958 27 of 1958 [25 November 1958] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Land (Requisition and Acquisition) Act, 1948 WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Assam Land (Requisition and Acquisition) Act, 1948 (Assam Act XXV of 1948), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Land (Requisition and Acquisition) (Amendment) Act, 1958. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of Section 1(2) of Assam Act XXV of 1948 :- In sub-section (2) of Section 1 of the principal Act, for the words "ten years" the words "fifteen years" shall be substituted.
