Amendment of Section 2 of Assam Act X of 1954 Assam Legislative Assembly (Members Emoluments) (Amendment) Act, 1957 23 of 1957 [04 December 1957] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Assam Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) Act, 1954 (Assam Act X of 1954) Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) Act, 1954 (Assam Act X of 1954), hereinafter called the Principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- This Act may be called the Assam Legislative Assembly (Members Emoluments) (Amendment) Act, 1957. (2) It shall have the like extent as the Principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of Section 2 of Assam Act X of 1954 :- I n Section 2 of the Principal Act, the words "who is not ordinarily resident at Shillong" shall be deleted.
