Amendment of Section-17 Assam Liquor Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 1994 12 of 1994 [26 April 1994] PREAMBLE AN ACT to amend the Assam Liquor Prohibition Act, 1952. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Liquor Prohibition Act 1952 (Assam Act-1 of 1952), hereinafter called the principal Act in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title extent and commencement :- (1). This Act may be called the Assam Liquor Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 1994. (2). It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3). It shall come into force at once 2. mendment of Section-2 :- In the principal Act, in Section-2, in sub-section (2), for the words, "State Prohibition Council", the words, "State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council" shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of Section-17 :- In the principal Act, in Section-17, in sub-section (1), (2), (3) and (4) for the words, "State Prohibition Council", the words, "State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council" shall be substituted.
