WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Assam Money Lenders'. Act, 1934 (Assam Act, IV of 1934) hereinafter called the principal Act in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows: - 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Money Lenders (Second Amendment) Act, 1954. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act, (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of section 2 of the Assam Act IV of 1934 :- I n item (i) of clause (6) of sub-section (3) of Section 2 of the principal Act, the words, "or a Co-operative Society" shall be omitted.
