Omission of Section 154 of the Assam Municipal Act, 1956 Assam Municipal (Amendment) Act, 1957 01 of 1958 [15 January 1958] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Assam Municipal Act, 1956 Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Municipal Act, 1956 (Assam Act XV of 1957), in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Municipal (Amendment) Act, 1957. (2) It shall have the like extent as the Assam Municipal Act, 1956 (Assam Act XV of 1957). (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Omission of Section 154 of the Assam Municipal Act, 1956 :- Section 154 of the Assam Municipal Act, 1956 shall be omitted.
