Application of the Assam Act I of 1933 to Autonomous Districts Assam Opium Amendment (Autonomous Districts) Act, 1954 38 of 1954 [15 December 1954] PREAMBLE An Act to extend the provisions of the Assam Opium (Amendment) Act, 1933 to Autonomous Districts. Whereas the Assam Opium (Amendment) Act, 1933 (Assam Act I of 1933) is not in force in the Autonomous Districts where the Opium Act, 1878 (Act I of 1878) is in force; And whereas it is expedient to bring the provisions of the said Act into force in the said Districts. It is hereby enacted in the Fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows: - 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Opium Amendment (Autonomous Districts) Act, 1954. (2) It extends to the Autonomous Districts in the State of Assam where the Opium Act, 1878 (Act I of 1878) is in force. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Application of the Assam Act I of 1933 to Autonomous Districts :- Ail the provisions of the Assam Opium (Amendment) Act, 1933 (Assam Act I of 1933) shall apply to the Autonomous Districts in the State of Assam to which this Act extends.
