Amendment of Section 31 3. Amendment of Section 32 Assam Opium Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 1994 10 of 1994 [22 April 1994] PREAMBLE AN ACT to amend the Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1947. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1947 (Assam Act XXIII of 1947), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1994. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of Section 31 :- In the principal Act, in Section 31 for the words, "State Prohibition Council" the words, "State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council" shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of Section 32 :- In the principal Act, in Section 32 in sub-section (1) and (2) for the words, "State Prohibition Council" the words, "State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council" shall be substituted.
