Amendment Section 2 3. Amendment of Section-30 Assam Opium Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 1995 04 of 1995 [18 April 1995] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1947. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1947 (Assam Act XXIII of 1947), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Opium Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 1995. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment Section 2 :- In the principal Act, in Section 2, in sub-section (b) for the words "State Prohibition Council" the words "State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council" shall be substituted. 3. Amendment of Section-30 :- In the principal Act, in Section 30, for the words "State Prohibition Council" occurring in between the words "deem fit a" and the words "consisting of" the words "State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council" shall be substituted.
