Amendment of Section-1 Assam Public Premises (Eviction Of Unauthorised Occupants) (Amendment) Act, 1995 16 of 1995 [31 May 1995] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971 (Assam Act, XX of 1976). Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1976 (Assam Act, XX 1976) in the manner hereinafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- 1. Short title and Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) (Amendment) Act, 1995. (2) It shall come into force from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Section-1 :- In the principal Act in section 1, for sub-section (2), the following shall be substituted, namely :- (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Assam, to the premises held by the State Government, wherever they situate, within the territorial jurisdiction of the States of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Maharastra, Meghalaya and Delhi.
