Repeal and saving Assam Repealing Act, 2006 06 of 2006 [26 June 2006] PREAMBLE An Act to repeal the Assam Right to Information Act, 2001. Whereas it is expedient to repeal the Assam Right to Information Act, 2001 (Assam Act IX of 2002). It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Repealing Act, 2006. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Repeal of Assam Act IX of 2002 :- The Assam Right to Information Act, 2001 (Assam Act IX of 2002) shall stand repealed. 3. Repeal and saving :- (1) The Assam Repealing Ordinance, 2006 (Assam Ordinance I of 2006) is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Ordinance so repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act.
