Repeal and Saying Assam Requisition And Control Of Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 1955 21 of 1955 [27 December 1955] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Requisition and Control of Vehicles Act, 1950 Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Requisition and Control of Vehicles Act, 1950 (Assam Act XXXII of 1950), hereinafter called the Principal Act, for the purposes hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Requisition and Control of Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 1955. (2) It shall have the like extent as the Principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of Section 1(3) of the Assam Act of 1950 :- In sub-section (3) of Section 1 of the Principal Act, for the figures "1955" the figures "1958" shall be substituted. 3. Repeal and Saying :- (1) The Assam Requisition and Control of Vehicles Ordinance No. VI of 1955 is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken i n the exercise of any powers conferred by or under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken in the exercise of the powers conferred by or under this Act, as if this Act were in force on the day on which such thing was cone or action was taken.
