Insertion of a new section after Section 7 of Assam Act XXV of 1958 Assam Speakers Salaries And Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1959 10 of 1959 [13 May 1959] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958 Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958 (Assam Act XXV of 1958), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Speakers Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1959. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Insertion of a new section after Section 7 of Assam Act XXV of 1958 :- After Section 7 of the principal Act, the following new section shall be inserted as Section 8 and the existing sections 8 and 9 shall be re-numbered as Sections 9 and 10 respectively, namely:-- "8. Medical attendance and treatment.-- Subject to any rules made in this behalf by the State Government the Speaker shall be entitled free of charge to accommodation in hospitals maintained by the Government and also to medical treatment".
