Amendment of Section 4 of Assam Act XXV of 1958 Assam Speakers Salaries, And Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1983 05 of 1983 [18 June 1983] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam, Speaker's Salaries and Allowances Act. 1958 (Act No. XXV of 1958), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-fourth year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title and Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Speakers Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act. (2) Section 3 shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the first day of February, 1981 and the remaining section shall come into force at once. 2. Amendment of Section 2 of Assam Act XXV of 1958 :- I n the principal Act, for section 2, the following shall be substituted, namely:-- "2. Salary of the Speaker-- There shall be paid to the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly a salary of rupees one thousand and five hundred per mensem". 3. Amendment of Section 4 of Assam Act XXV of 1958 :- I n the principal Act, in section 4, clause (ii) and the proviso thereunder shall be deleted.
