Amendment of section 1(3) of Assam Act VII of 1950 Assam Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1955 02 of 1955 [30 March 1955] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Assam Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1950 (Assam Act VII of 1950). Whereas it is necessary to amend the Assam Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1950 (Assam Act VII of 1950) in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1955. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. (3) It shall come into force on the 31st day of March 1955. 2. Amendment of section 1(3) of Assam Act VII of 1950 :- In sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Assam Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1950, a full stop shall be inserted after the figures "1950" and the words "and shall remain in force for a period of five years" shall be deleted.
