Extension of Assam Act XVIII of 1951 Assam State Acquisition Of Zamindaris (Extension To Autonomous District Of Garo Hills) Act, 1953 26 of 1953 [09 September 1953] PREAMBLE An Act to extend the Assam State Acquisition of Zamindaris Act, 1951 to the Autonomous district of Garo Hills Whereas it is expedient to extend the Assam State Acquisition of Zamindaris Act, 1951 (Assam Act XVIII of 1951)to the Autonomous district of Garo Hills; It is hereby enacted as follows:-- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam State Acquisition of Zamindaris (Extension to Autonomous District of Garo Hills) Act, 1953. (2) It shall extend to the Autonomous district of Garo Hills. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may by notification in the official Gazette appoint. 2. Extension of Assam Act XVIII of 1951 :- All the provisions of the Assam State Acquisition of Zamindaris Act, 1951 (Assam Act XVIII of 1951) shall extend to the Autonomous district of Garo Hills.
