Amendment of section 3 of Assam Act XIII of 1954 Assam Taxation (On Goods Carried By Roads Of Inland Water-Ways) (Amendment) Act, 1955 14 of 1955 [20 July 1955] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Assam Taxation (on goods carried by roads or inland water-ways) Act, 1954 Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Taxation (on goods carried by roads or inland water-ways) Act, 1954 (Assam Act XIII of 1954), hereinafter called the Principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Assam Taxation (on goods carried by roads or inland water-ways) Amendment) Act, 1955. (2) It shall have the like extent as the Principal Act. (3) It shall come into force from the 1st July 1955. 2. Amendment of section 3 of Assam Act XIII of 1954 :- In Section 3 of the Principal Act for the words "one pice" the words "one anna" shall be substituted.
