Amendment of Section 6 of Bengal Act IX of 1880 Bihar Finance Act, 1984 7 of 1984 PREAMBLE An Act to raise additional fund for the execution of Public Welfare Schemes to give effect to the financial proposals of the State Government for the financial year 1984-85 to amend Cess Act, 1880 (Bengal Act IX of 1880) and Bihar Finance Act, 1981 (Bihar Act V, 1981) Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar in Thirty-fifth year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Received assent on 31.3.1984 and published in Bihar Gazette (Extraordinary) No. 206 dated 7th April, 1984. CHAPTER 1 PRELIMINARY 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Bihar Finance Act, 1984. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Bihar. (3) It shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1984. CHAPTER 2 AMENDMENT OF THE CESS ACT, 1880 (BENGAL ACT IX OF 1880) 2. Amendment of Section 6 of Bengal Act IX of 1880 :- In Section 6 of the Bengal Act IX of 1880 for the word and figure " 1 0 per cent" the word and figure "20 per cent" shall be substituted.
