Amendment of section 3 of Act 8 of 1885 BIHAR TENANCY (WEST BENGAL AMENDMENT) ACT, 1963 17 of 1963 [3rd May, 1963] An Act to amend the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, in its application to West Bengal. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, in its application to West Bengal, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows 1. Short title :- This Act may be called the Bihar Tenancy (West Bengal Amendment) Act, 1963. 2. Application of the Act :- The Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), shall, in its application to West Bengal, be amended for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter provided. 3. Amendment of section 3 of Act 8 of 1885 :- In the proviso to clause (11) of section 3 of the said Act, for the words "the year commencing from the first day of April" the words "the Bengali year commencing on the first day of Baisakh" shall be substituted.
