Superannuation SCHEDULE 1 :- SCHEDULE BORDER SECURITY FORCE (ENGINEERING/ELECTRICAL) GROUP 'B' AND 'C' POStS RECRUITMENT RULES, 1999 11 . Received the assent of the President New Delhi, the 25th October, 1999 on G.S.R. 352, and published in the Gazette of India, No. 44, Part II, Sub-section (i) of Section 3, dated October 16, 1999-MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS. G.S.R. 352.-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) and clauses (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) of section 141 of the Border Security Force Act, 1968 (47 of 1968) the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to Group 'B' and 'C' posts in the Border Security Force for the maintenance of Fixed Assets on Indo-Pak border and other Engineering setup (Electrical), namely :- 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) These rules may be called the Border Security Force (Engireering/Electrical) Group 'B' and 'C' posts recruitment rules, 1999. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette. 2. Number of posts, classification and scale of pay :- The number of the said posts, their classification and the scale of pay attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of recruitment, age limit and other qualification :- The method of recruitment to the said posts age limit, qualifications and other matters relating thereto shall be as specified in columns (5) to (14) of the said Schedule. 4. Disqualification :- No person- (a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living or (b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said posts: Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 5. Power to relax :- Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order and for reasons to he recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons. 6. Saving :- Nothing in these rules shall affeet reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Schedule Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Ex- servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard. 7. Liability of persons appointed on deputation to undergo basic training :- Not withstanding anything contained in these rules, every person appointed on deputation from other department under these rules shall woar the uniform and undergp sox weels besoc training immediately on such appointmen. 8. Superannuation :- (1) Persons appointed under these rules shall retire from service on the afternoon of the last day of the month in which he attains the age of fifty seven. years: Provided that the person whose date of birth is the first of a mpnths shall retire from servece on the afternoon of the last day of the preceding month on attaining the age of fifty seven years. (2) No person shall be granted extension in service beyord the age of retirement of fifty seven years.
