Extension of terms and conditions of office and powers of the Director-General BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS (REMOVAL OF DIFFICULTIES) ORDER, 1987 S.O. 277(E), dated the 1st April, 1987.1-In exercise of the power conferred by Section 41 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986), the Central Government hereby makes the following orders, namely; 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) This order may be called the Burea of Indian Standards (Removal of Difficulties) Order, 1987, (2) It shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1987. 2. Extension of terms and conditions of office and powers of the Director-General :- The terms and conditions of office and powers of the Director General of the erstwhile Indian Standards Institutions is hereby extended and the said Director General shall continue to hold office, exercise powers and discharge the function; to the Director- General for a period of sixty days hereafter or till a new Director- General is appointed under Section 4 of the said Act, whichever is earlier.
