Repeal And Saving Calicut University (Amendment) Act, 1976 2 of 1976 An Act to amend the Calicut University Act, 1976 WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Calicut University Act, 1975, for the purpose hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Twenty- seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short Title And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Calicut University (Amendment) Act, 1976. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 20th day of September, 1975. 2. Amendment Of Section 17 :- In section 17 of the Calicut University Act, 1975 (5 of 1975) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in item (2) under the heading Elected Members, for the words not being teachers, the words, brackets and figures not being persons eligible to be elected under item (1), (4), (5), (6), (9), (10), (11) or (12) or under item (1), (4), (5), (6), (9), (10), (11) or (12) under the heading Elected Members in section 17 of the Kerala University Act 1974 shall be substituted. 3. Repeal And Saving :- (1) The Calicut University (Amendment) Ordinance, 1975 (8 of 1975), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act.
