Be it enacted by the Chhattisgarh Legislature in the Sixtieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- * Published in the Chhattisgarh Rajpatra (Asadharan) dated 29-9-2009 Page 588(1). 1. Short Title, Extent And Commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Chhattisgarh Municipal Corporation (Sanshodhan) Act, 2009. (2) It extends to the whole of State of Chhattisgarh. (3) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment Of Section 17 :- (1) Clause (m) of sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Chhattisgarh Municipal Corporation Act, 1956 (No. 23 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act) shall be omitted. (2) Clause (cc) of sub-section (2) of Section 17 of the Principal Act shall be omitted.
