Rule Cleaner (Class IV) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Cleaner (Class IV), (Pancnayat Service), namely: 1. Rule :- These rules may be called the Cleaner (Class TV) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. Rule :- Appointment to the post of Cleaner (Class IV) (Panchayat Service) shall be made by direct selection. 3. Rule :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years and not more than 25 years of age; (b) (i) have passed Seventh Standard Examination; (ii) possess good physique to carry out his respective duties efficiently. (c) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 4. Rule :- A selected candidate shall bo on probation for a period of six months. 5. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to undergo such training for such period and pass such post-training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 6. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. Rule :- A selected candidate shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond for such amount, in such form and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
