Clerk, Class-III, in the Office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission Recruitment Rules, 1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India, and in supersession of all existing rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for , regulating recruitment to the post of Clerk, Class-III, in the Office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission, namely: 1. . :- These rule may be called the Clerk, Class-III, in the Office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission Recruitment Rules, 1999. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Clerk, Class-III, shall be made either (a) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons working in Class-IV Service in the Office of the Gujarat Public Service Commission and who (i) possess four years experience in Class-IV service; (ii) possess the educational qualification prescribed in Rule 4(b); (iii) have undergone training and have passed the prescribed departmental examination for the post of Clerk; or (b) by direct selection on the basis of the result of the competitive examination held by the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board. 3. . :- Appointment by direct selection and by promotion shall be made in the ratio of 8:2 respectively. 4. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be less than 18 years of age and not be more than 25 years of age; (b) have passed the Gujarat Secondary School Certificate examination or an equivalent Examination recognised by the Government. 5. . :- The candidate appointed by direct selection shall have to undergo pre-service training and to pass post training examination as may be prescribed by the Government from time to time. 6. . :- The selected candidate shall be on probation for period of one year. 7. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass the examination in Hindi or Gujarati or in both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government from time to time. 8. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to furnish security and surety bonds for such period, for such amount and in such form as may be prescribed by Government from time to time.
