Standard Weight and remedy allowed COINAGE (STANDARD WEIGHT AND REMEDY OF THE ONE RUPEE CIRCULAR COINS CONTAINING IRON 82% AND CHROMIUM 18% WITH THE THEME CELLULAR JAIL) RULES, 1997 G.S.R. 722(E), dated 23rd December, 1997. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Sec.21 read with Sec.7 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: 1. Short title and commencement :- (1) These rules may be called The Coinage Standard Weight and Remedy of the One Rupee Circular Coins containing Iron 82% and Choromium 18% with the Theme 'Cellular Jail' Rules, 1997. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Standard Weight and remedy allowed :- The Standard weight of the coins of One Rupee coined under the provisions of Sec.6 of the Coinage Act, 1906 (3 of 1906) and the remedy allowed in making such coins shall be as specified in the table.
