Application of the Act XX of 1938 to Autonomous Districts Criminal Law Amendment (Extension To Autonomous Districts) Act, 1955 07 of 1955 [13 April 1955] PREAMBLE An Act to extend the provisions of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1938 to Autonomous Districts. Whereas the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1938 (Act XX of 1938) is not in force in the Autonomous Districts; And whereas it is expedient to bring the provisions of the said Act into force in the said Districts; It is hereby enacted in the Sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1. Short title, extent and commencement :- (1) This Act may be called the Criminal Law Amendment (Extension to Autonomous Districts) Act, 1955 (2) It extends to the Autonomous Districts in the State of Assam. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Application of the Act XX of 1938 to Autonomous Districts :- All the provisions of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1938 (Act XX o f 1938) shall apply to the Autonomous Districts in the State of Assam.
