Validation of exercise of Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction in respect of Revenue District of Dangs DANGS (VALIDATION OF CIVIL AND CRIMINAL JURISDICTION) ACT, 1961 21 of 1961 [] An Act to validate the exercise of Civil and Criminal jurisdiction by certain Court in respect of the district of Dangs. It is hereby enacted in the Twelfth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title :- This Act may be called the Dangs (Validation of Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction) Act, 1961. 2. Validation of exercise of Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction in respect of Revenue District of Dangs :- Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the Bombay Civil courts Act, 1869 (XIV of 1869), the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (V of 1898), the former Government of Bombay, Political and Services Department Notifications No. 3198/46-F-1 and No. 3198/46-F.V, dated the 31st July, 1949 or any other law for the time being in force all jurisdiction in respect of the revenue district of Dangs as constituted during the period from the 31st day of July, 1949 to the 30th day of April, 1960 (both inclusive) exercised by the District Court, Surat, the Court of the Civil Judge (Senior Division), Surat, the Sessions Court, Surat or by any other authority whatsoever and all Civil, Criminal and other proceedings conducted and orders passed, judgments pronounced, decrees made or executed and any other action taken or thing done any in such proceedings in exercise of such jurisdiction by any such Court or authority shall be valid and shall not be called in question merely on the ground that the revenue District of Dangs was not included in the judicial district, or as the case may be. the Sessions division of Surat during the aforesaid period.
