Deputy Director of Medical Services (Medical) Class-I, Recruit- ment Rules, 1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Deputy Director of Medical Services (Medical) Class-I, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Deputy Director of Medical Services (Medical) Class-I, Recruitment Rules, 1999. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Deputy Director of Medical Services (Medical) Class-I shall be made by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who (i) have worked for not less than total five years in the cadre of Chief District Medical Officer Cum-Civil Surgeon and Superintendent of General or Civil Hospital under the Director of Medical Services. Provided that where the appointing authority is satisfied that a person having the experience specified above is not available for promotion and that it is necessary in the public interest to fill up a post by promotion even of a person having experience for a lesser period, it may for reasons to be recorded in writing promote such person who possesses experiences of a period of not less than two third of the period specified above.
