Deputy Taluka Development Officer (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2002 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 274 read with Sec. 227 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Deputy Taluka Development Officer (Class-III) (Panchayat Service), namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Deputy Taluka Development Officer (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 2002. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Deputy Taluka Development Officer (Class-III) shall be made by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than five years in the cadre of Deputy Chitnis (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) and have passed the prescribed departmental examination: Provided that where an appointing authority is satisfied that a person having an experience specified above is not available for promotion and that it is in public interest to fill up the post by promotion of a person having experience for a lesser period, it may, for reasons to be recorded in writing (supported with evidences) promote such person who has experience for a period not less than two thirds of the period specified as above. 3. . :- A selected candidate shall be required to pass the Departmental Examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 4. . :- A candidate appointed shall be required to undergo such training for such period, and to pass such post training examination, as may be prescribed by the Government.
