Electrical Inspector and the Lift Inspector in the office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, Gandhinagar, Class-I, Recruitment Rules, 2007 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Art. 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of the Electrical Inspector and the Lift Inspector in the office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, Gandhinagar in Gujarat Engineering, Service, Class-I, namely: 1. . :- These rules may be called the Electrical Inspector and the Lift Inspector in the office of the Chief Electrical Inspector, Gandhinagar, Class-I, Recruitment Rules, 2007. 2. . :- Appointment to the post of Electrical Inspector and Lift Inspector, Class-I, shall be made either- (a) (i) by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who, possess the experience of not less than eight years as provided in Rule 4 of the Indian Electricity Rules, 1956, out of which not less than five years must have been in the cadre of Assistant Electrical Inspector, Class II; and (ii) have passed the qualifying examination for computer knowledge as prescribed by the Government in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967; or (b) by direct selection. 3. . :- Appointment by direct selection and promotion shall be made in the ratio of 1:3 respectively. 4. . :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2, a candidate shall (a) not be more than 36 years age ; (b) possess a second class degree in Electrical Engineering of any University incorporated by an Act of the Parliament or the State Legislature in India or other educational institute established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Government for the purpose; (c) have been regularly engaged for a period of about eight years in the practice of Electrical Engineering of which, (i) not less than two years have been spent in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering workshop or in the generation or transmission or distribution of electricity or in the administration of the Electricity Law and the rules made thereunder in a position of responsibility; or (ii) about two years experience in the erection and maintenance of lifts or engaged in manufacturing of lifts, plants and machinery in a position of responsibility. Explanation I. The experience as provided in Rule 4 of the Indian Electricity Rules, 1956 as mentioned in clause (c) above should have been obtained from the State Government or the Central Government or its Board or Corporation or Company having license f o r generation, transmission or distribution of electricity or a Government recognised institution or limited companies registered under the Company Law; Explanation II. For the purpose of this rule, the words 'position of responsibility shall ordinarily mean work experience on a post in the Government or a limited company registered under the company law or in joint sector or in the Government undertaking which is treated by the Government as equivalent to class II post under the State Government; (d) possess the basic knowledge of computer application, as prescribed by the Government in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General Rules, 1967. (e) possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both: Provided that the upper age limit may be relaxed in favour of a candidate who is already in the service of Government of Gujarat, in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classifications and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. 5. . :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of two years. 6. . :- The selected candidate shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government from time to time. 7. . :- The candidate appointed either by direct selection or by promotion shall have to undergo such training and to pass such examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 8. . :- The candidate appointed by direct selection shall during his probation period, be required to undergo pre-service training and pass the post training examination in accordance with the Gazetted Officers pre-service Training and Examination Rules, 1970. 9. . :- A Candidate appointed by direct selection shall furnish a security and surety bonds in such form, for such amount and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
