Rule Electrician (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Electrician (Class-III) (Panchayat Service), namely: 1. Rule :- These rules may be called the Electrician (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. Rule :- Appointment to the post of Electrician (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made either (a) by promotion of of person a proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked as Wireman (Class-III) (Panchayat Service) for not less than five years; or (b) by direct selection. 3. Rule :- The appointment by direct selection and promotion shall be made in the ratio of 1:1. 4. Rule :- To be eligible for appointment by direct selection to the post mentioned in Rule 2 a candidate shall (a) not be more than 25 years of age; (b) possess a certificate of Competency awarded by the Licensing Board or an equivalent qualification; (c) have worked for atleast Five years as Wireman in a reputed firm carrying out electrical wiring works; (d) have adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi. 5. Rule :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be on probation for a period of one year. 6. Rule :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to undergo such training for such period and pass such post training examination as may be prescribed by the Government. 7. Rule :- A candidate appointed either by direct selection or by promotion shall be required to pass the departmental examination and an examination in Gujarati or Hindi or both as may be prescribed by the Government. 8. Rule :- A candidate appointed by direct selection shall be required to furnish a security and surety bond for such amount, in such form and for such period as may be prescribed by the Government.
