Extension Officer (Panchayat) (Class III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec. 227 read with Sec. 274 of the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993 (Guj. 18 of 1993) and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Government hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Extension Officer (Class III) (Panchayat) (Panchayat Service) namely: 1. 1. :- These rules may be called the Extension Officer, (Panchayat) (Class III) (Panchayat Service) Recruitment Rules, 1998. 2. 2. :- Appointment to the post of Extension Officer (Panchayat) (Class III) (Panchayat Service) shall be made by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked as Gram Sevak (Class III) (Panchayat Service) or Circle Inspector (Class III) (Panchayat Service) for not less than five years; 3. 3. :- The ratio from promotion between Gram Sevak (Class III) (Panchayat Service) shall be 2:1. 4. 4. :- A candidate shall be required by undergo such training for such period and pass the post-training examination and an examination i n Hindi or Gujarati or both as may be prescribed by the Government.
