Gujarat Civil Courts (Amendment) Act, 2014 7 OF 2014 [28 July 2014] AN ACT further to amend the Gujarat Civil Courts Act, 2005. It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title. :- This Act may be called the Gujarat Civil Courts (Amendment) Act, 2014. 2. Amendment of section 14 of Guj. 21 of 2005. :- In the Gujarat Civil Courts Act, 2005 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"), in section 14, for the words "or such other sum as the High Court may, from time to time specify", the words "or such other sum as the High Court may, by notification, from time to time specify" shall be substituted. 3. Insertion of new section 14A in Guj. 21 of 2005. :- In the principal Act, after section 14, the following section shall be inserted, namely: - "14A. Transfer of pending cases. A ll suits and proceedings of a civil nature wherein the subject matter exceeds in amount or value of two lakhs rupees but does not exceed the value or amount as may be specified by the High Court, by notification, from time to time under section 14, pending in a Court of Senior Civil Judge shall, after such specification by notification, stand transferred to and be disposed of by a Civil Judge within the local limits of his ordinary jurisdiction.". 4. Amendment of section 15 of Guj. 21 of 2005. :- In the principal Act, in section 15, in sub-section (2), in clause (a), for the words "or such other sum as the High Court may, from time to time specify", the words "or such other sum as the High Court m a y, by notification, from time to time specify" shall be substituted.
