Section 8 GUJARAT LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS (FREE TRANSIT BY ROAD TRANSPORT SERVICE) RULES, 1960 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 read with subsection (1-A) of section 10 of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Members' Salaries and Allowances Ordinance. 1960 (Gujarat Ord. No. III of 1960), the Government of Gujarat. in consultation with the Speaker hereby makes the following rules, namely:- 1. Section 1 :- (2) They shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of May 1960. 1A. Section 1A :- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires.,- (b) "member" means the member of the Assembly.] 2. Section 2 :- Subject to the provisions of these rules, every member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly [shall on production of identity card be entitled] to travel singly by or jointly with two co- travelers] free of charge by the service buses of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. Ahmedabad and the service buses of the Road Transport Corporation of any other State plying within the limits of the Gujarat. 3. Section 3 :- Deleted]. 4. Section 4 :- x x x] 5. Section 5 :- A member shall produce the identity card [x x x] issued to him before the conductor or any other officer of the undertaking duly authorized in that behalf on demand. Explanation.-"Id entity Card" means an identity card issued to a member by the Secretary, Gujarat Legislature Secretariat. 6. Section 6 :- (2) A member wishing to reserve his seat may do so on payment of the prescribed charges for reservation. 7. Section 7 :- A member or [co-travelers]] be entitled to carry such luggage free of charge as is permissible for [the class in which the member or [co-travelers] travel] and the member shall have to pay for the excess luggage, if any at the rates prescribed in that behalf by the undertaking concerned. 8. Section 8 :- The [Identity card issued] under these rules shall be valid only during the period the holder continues to be a member of the Assembly.
