GUJARAT POLICE DEPARTMENT HEAD CLERK (IN THE SUBORDINATE SERVICE) RECRUITMENT RULES, 1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all the rules made in this behalf, the Governor of Gujarat hereby makes the following rules to provide for regulating recruitment to the post of Head Clerk in the Subordinate Service, Class-III under the Gujarat Police Department, namely 1. . :- These rules may be called the Gujarat Police Department Head Clerk (In the Subordinate Service) Recruitment Rules, 1989. 2. . :- Appointment of the post of Head Clerk, Class-III under the Gujarat Police Department shall be made by promotion of a person of proved merit and efficiency from amongst the persons who have worked for not less than five years in the cadre of Senior Clerk in the subordinate service of the Police Department and who have passed the departmental examination: Provided that where an appointment authority in satisfied that a person having an experience specified above, is not available for promotion and that it is in public interest to fill up the post by promotion of a person having experience for a lesser period it may, for reasons to be recorded in writing promote such person who have experience for a period not less than two thirds of the period specified above.
